Music Retreat
Music Retreat is a single-location feature film, currently in development as an independent production. With cultural authenticity being a core value, this film has over eight characters each from a different country and as complex as ever. Music Retreat brings a fresh perspective on cultural diversity while exploring the underbelly of the entertainment industry— it may be fiction but grueling stories, like this, of what artists are subjected (and willing) to do are very much prevalent.

(The Submission)
The Submission (supported by HerStory Films) is a short film about the backstory of one of the Music Retreat characters. Set in Bahrain, the character’s home country, we follow familial expectations, self doubt, and betrayal with an urgent countdown for her Music Retreat submission. This short film viscerally explores Bahraini music and its emotional influences. The Submission is a tense story about a Bahraini girl with a dream, and when time runs out, betrayal seems like a small price to pay.
